In order to get from one motif to the other, I would have had to make a split ring. I was stuck with how to make that with the ecru and green thread, without the green showing. Your comments prompted the answer! I needed to use two ecru shuttles and one green one! It looks lovely so you've done very well with tatting and hiding the ends.
